The Warriors almost knocked off UCSB again this year. The last four years have had some interesting games. This Saturday, Westmont was ahead by 3 with about 5 minutes to go, but ended up losing 51 - 42. The smaller Warriors scrapped, battled, and out rebounded the larger Gauchos. The telling statistic was field goal percentage, Westmont shot 25% while UCSB shot 40%. It seems like every year we struggle from the floor and shoot a low percentage at the Thunderdome. One of these days that is going to change.... You can read the SBNewspress summary of the game here.

The Santa Barbara Newspress has an interesting article that previews tonight's cross town matchup between Westmont and UCSB. Mark Patton writes about the close games of the past few years and Westmont's victory in 1998. Click here to read the full article.
